• Metal band Lamb of God performs at In the Venue, 219 S. 600 West, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Decapitated, The Stranger Beside Me. Show starts at 6. Tickets are $28, at Smith's Tix.

• L.A. rapper Kendrick Lamar performs at Saltair, 12408 W. Saltair Drive, Magna. Opening acts: Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $40, at Smith's Tix and 24Tix.

• Dance-party electronica band Afrolicious performs at The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $17, at the venue's website.
