An 18-month-old boy was hospitalized after being discovered unconscious in his family's hot tub Friday evening in Highland.

Lone Peak Fire Capt. Joseph McRae said the boy had been in the water for about a minute before his teenage sister found him and performed CPR on him. He was unconscious but still breathing.

McRae said the boy was had regained some consciousness by the time emergency responders arrived. On the way to the hospital, the boy regained full consciousness in the ambulance.

"It was a miracle save," McRae said.

The boy was still being checked at American Fork Hospital on Friday evening, but he is expected to be OK, he said.
