A 37-year-old woman died Sunday after two vehicles collided head-on in Magna.

Unified police Lt. Justin Hoyal said a 17-year-old girl was northbound about 1:45 p.m. on 8400 West when her Oldsmobile Alero suddenly swerved across several lanes of traffic and collided head-on with a Ford pickup.

Hoyal said the pickup was driven by a 40-year-old man whose wife. Next to him were his 37-year-oldwife, Jodi M. Bailey, in the middle and their 14-year-old daughter in the passenger's seat.

Bailey was transported to Intermountain Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The 17-year-old was taken to IMC where she was listed in serious condition. The 14-year-old was taken to Pioneer Valley Hospital in critical condition. The man suffered minor injuries and was treated at IMC.

Hoyal said the department's crash reconstruction team was trying to determine what caused the teen to veer into traffic and also to determine who was wearing seat belts.

Hoyal said it did not appear drugs or alcohol were a factor.

He said the information would be presented to the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office to determine if any charges would be appropriate.
