Park City-based audio accessories manufacturer Skullcandy has released a new pair of headphones for video gamers with a wireless microphone and Dolby surround sound.

The Skullcandy PLYR 1 Wireless Gaming Headset is available in black exclusively through Best Buy stores for $179.99. A white version will also be available this month on the company's website, at http://www.skullcandy.com.

The PLYR 1 has a 2.4 gigahertz wireless headphone, Dolby 7.1 surround sound, game-to-voice balancing, custom equalizer settings and a transmitter with a built-in headset stand. The headset is compatible with the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Mac and PC. And because it is wireless, the player can listen without connecting cables to the gaming system or stereo system.

The headset was designed in conjunction with video gaming products company ASTRO Gaming.
