Sen. Allen Christensen, R-North Ogden, opposes any bill to make cockfighting in Utah a felony (it's now a misdemeanor) as it is in the vast majority of states: "Roosters fighting each other, that comes naturally," he said. "I just don't believe it deserves a felony."

Come on, senator, get serious. Huge crowds go to these illegal cockfighting venues to place bets on which rooster will kill the other. With Christensen's thinking, the Utah Legislature might want to reconsider its current law and reduce dog-fighting from a felony to a misdemeanor.
