I agree with James Green ("No vote if on welfare," Forum, July 7) that we must prohibit those receiving welfare assistance from voting.
That's why no Utahn should be allowed to vote. No Utahn, that is, who gets his water from a tap. Because Salt Lake, for example, gets 70,000 acre-feet of water each year from the federally subsidized Central Utah Project, the city's welfare drinkers are ineligible for voting.
Also off the registers are Utahns who eat beef grazed on subsidized range land. Employees of oil and natural gas companies, mines, logging operations and ski resorts should not vote because of the largesse of the Bureau of Logging and Mining and the Forest Service.
