I would like to know how she feels that this is different from me driving up to a stop sign, taking my foot off the gas and applying the brake to slow down and, seeing no traffic, proceeding through the intersection without stopping.
If I got caught doing that I would expect to receive a citation. In fact, I have received just such a citation.
I have driven in almost every Western state and most countries in the Pacific Rim. Many of these roads are narrower and there are more bicycles on them than on any road in this country.
Mayor Ralph Becker is to be commended for making Salt Lake City a bike-friendly city, where everybody is expected to obey the laws.
It makes no difference if you are 62 or 16 (I am 61), the laws apply to all.
