A former youth home employee was charged with multiple felonies Wednesday based on accusations that he had been showing pornographic videos of himself to boys in the LaVerkin facility.
St. George resident Donald M. Brown Jr., 48, faces 10 counts of dealing in unlawful material to a minor, all third-degree felonies punishable by up to five years in prison.
According to a probable cause statement filed in 5th District Court, Brown's former employer, the Youth Foundation Success Academy, told LaVerkin Police about Brown's alleged behavior after an internal investigation.
Six boys allegedly told police that Brown had shown them between 15 and 50 videos of him having sex in his home. Investigators also interviewed Brown, who allegedly said that those videos were on his phone, but that he never intentionally showed them to the boys.
Police say Brown then admitted to talking about his sex life in "great detail," with the boys. He then told police that the boys had seen the videos on his phone, but that "every time was an accident," according to court documents.
Brown was booked into Purgatory Correctional Facility in Hurricane, where he remained Friday in lieu of $50,000 bond.
