A Pleasant Grove man was arrested on suspicion of using secret cameras to spy on his estranged wife despite being under a stalking injunction.
In jail documents filed Sunday, police wrote that the man had surveillance cameras installed in the couple's home when it was built in 2008 but agreed to remove them because his wife was uncomfortable with them. The man asked his wife for a divorce on Christmas and moved out of their Pleasant Grove home in January.
The woman later hired the installer of the surveillance system to repair her TV, police wrote. The installer told the woman the cameras still were in operation, police wrote. The installer told police that the husband had once asked him to install in the living room two cameras that were designed to look like security motion detectors and not surveillance cameras, investigators wrote. The installer said the husband asked that the cameras be installed while the family was on vacation.
