Utah volleyball picked for ninth in Pac-12

The Utah volleyball team was picked to finish ninth in the Pac-12 Conference in the Preseason Coaches Poll. Utah has finished ninth in the Pac-12 each of the last two seasons after being selected 10th in each preseason poll.

Stanford received 10 first-place votes to claim the poll's top spot, followed by USC, Washington, Oregon, UCLA, Arizona State, California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Washington State and Oregon State

In 2012, the Pac-12 had six teams ranked in the top 25. Oregon advancing to the national championship match.

The Utes begin their 2013 season by hosting the annual Utah Classic in the Huntsman Center on Aug. 30-31 with a trio of matches against Utah State, Fairfield and Northern Iowa.
