The Salt Lake Bees took another step toward the Pacific Coast League playoffs Saturday night.

Luis Jimenez and Efren Navarro drove in three runs apiece and Salt Lake scored a wire-to-wire 10-8 victory over Las Vegas at Spring Mobile Ballpark.

The win gave the Bees a 61/2-game lead over Tacoma in the PCL's Pacific Northern Division. Salt Lake has 16 games remaining, including nine against Reno, which co-owns the worst record in the league.

Salt Lake, which has won 13 of its last 18 games, jumped to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.

After Navarro drew a leadoff walk, he scored on Andy Marte's one-out double to left center. Scott Cousins followed with a single to left, moving Marte to third. He scored on Luke Carlin's infield out.

The Bees made it 4-0 and knocked out Las Vegas starter Giancarlo Alvarado in the third.

Matt Long walked and Tommy Field singled to start the inning. Both runners moved up on a wild pitch before Jimenez walked to load the bases. Navarro followed with a two-run single, ending Alvarado's evening.

With two on and nobody out, however, Las Vegas reliever Jack Leathersich pitched out of trouble. He got Luis Rodriguez to bounce into a double play before Marte popped to short center.

Las Vegas got its first hit and scored a run off Bees' starter Billy Buckner in the fourth, but Salt Lake extended its lead in the bottom of the inning when Leathersich imploded with two outs.

He walked Drew Heid and Long before hitting Field with a pitch. Jimenez followed with a bases-clearing double to right center. Navarro's RBI single capped a four-run explosion, which gave Salt Lake an 8-1 lead.
