KTVX-Channel 4's new anchorman is an old anchorman. Well, a former anchorman who's returning to the station.Don Hudson, who anchored "Good Morning, Utah" and then KTVX's 5 p.m. newscast before leaving the station in September 2012, is returning as Channel 4's lead male anchor. He'll do the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts alongside Kim Fischer beginning Monday.He's replacing Brent Hunsaker, who is currently on assignment in Africa.Hudson exited Utah for or WHEC, the NBC affiliate in Rochester, New York, in September 2012 and spent several months at that station as an anchorman and reporter. KTVX has been talking to him about returning for the past several months, and Hudson was anxious to make the switch because of family concerns.Here's KTVX's release: SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Utah's first TV station, ABC4 Utah, along with Utah's CW30, are pleased to announce the return of Anchor/Reporter Don Hudson to the stations' award-winning news team. Hudson, a graduate of Brigham Young University, joins ABC4 Utah News as a weekday primary anchor on ABC4 Utah News at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. with co-anchor Kim Fischer, meteorologist Jim Kosek and ABC4 Utah sports director, Wesley Ruff. Hudson returns to Utah and ABC4 Utah following a one-year assignment as primary anchor for WHEC in Rochester, New York. An Emmy Award-winning journalist, Don previously served as co-anchor of ABC4 Utah's 5 p.m. newscast and Good Morning Utah from 2008 to 2012. "I have lived all over the country during my 24 years in television news, but coming back to work in Utah is like coming back home," says Hudson. "I'm excited about working at ABC4 Utah again and working for the people of Utah. I truly love that my job is to gather important information and have always felt it was a responsibility and a privilege to share it with our viewers." Hudson's return is a reunion with co-anchor Kim Fischer on the ABC4 Utah anchor desk. The pair co-anchored the 5 p.m. newscast before Hudson's departure in late 2012."I'm so excited to be working with Don again," says Fischer who took over co-anchoring duties for all evening weekday newscasts on ABC4 Utah in April 2013.
