Utah State launches 'Chuckie for Heisman' website

It started with a project by a few college students in Miami. It built up with trading cards.

Now the "Chuckie for Heisman" campaign has its own website.

Utah State's athletic department has done a lot to promote its star quarterback, a watchlister for the Walter Camp, Manning, Maxwell, Davey O'Brien and Heisman awards. Although several Mountain West quarterbacks are in similar standing, Keeton was the only one at media day who had a personal trading card available with his credentials on the back.

Now there's the website, which features Keeton prominently on every page and goes into his statistics, records and honors. The page has a video highlights and interviews, photos and a few news stories (with a few Tribune pieces) about the junior from Texas.

The odds that Keeton could win the Heisman are undeniably slim: A recent Sports Illustrated article listed him at 100-to-1 to get college football's most coveted trophy. For a small-school prospect, Utah State would probably need an undefeated or one-loss season, or Keeton would need to put up astronomical numbers in big wins.

But in supporting his Heisman candidacy, Utah State has shown how much faith it places in Keeton, who helped lead the team to an 11-2 season last year. And never say never - after all, what were Johnny Manziel's odds last August?
