A former custodian at a St. George school was sentenced to up to 15 years in prison for having a sexual relationship with a teen girl in 2009.
Richard Burditt, 45, was charged in 2009 with second-degree felony forcible sex abuse, dealing in harmful material to a minor, lewdness involving a child, and misdemeanor voyeurism charges based on a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
Burditt accepted a plea deal in February and pleaded guilty to forcible sex abuse and third-degree felony dealing in harmful materials to a minor. Last Friday, a 5th District judge sentenced Burditt to spend one to 15 years in prison for the second-degree felony charge, and zero to five years on the second charge. The judge ordered the sentences to run concurrently.
