Here's what's happening today in pop culture:

• J.K. Rowling is returning to the wizarding world! She's making her screenwriting debut with a movie based on "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," a Hogwarts textbook she wrote for charity a few years ago. [AP, via The Salt Lake Tribune]

• Editor Tina Brown will be leaving The Daily Beast, the news website she co-founded, at the end of the year. [New York]

• A "Breaking Bad" spinoff, "Better Call Saul," is happening. It's a prequel centering on Bob Odenkirk's lawyer character. [The Guardian]
