Harrison, N.J. • Thierry Henry scored in the first half and Fabian Espindola added a goal on a wild play with 10 minutes left, leading the New York Red Bulls to a 2-0 victory over Toronto FC on Saturday night.
The Red Bulls took over sole possession of first place in the MLS Eastern Conference standings. New York, which has five games remaining, began the day tied with both Montreal and Sporting Kansas City, but the Impact lost to Columbus and Sporting was off.
Toronto was eliminated from playoff contention.
D.C. United 2, Galaxy 2 • In Washington, Substitute Kyle Porter scored in the 84th minute to help D.C. United pull into a draw with Los Angeles.
Porter's goal came three minutes after Michael Stephens scored for the first time in three seasons to put Los Angeles in front.
Robbie Keane also scored his team-leading 13th goal early for the Galaxy and added his team-leading 11th assist on Stephens' effort.
