If you're a fan of hot weather enjoy it while it lasts: Tuesday may be the last really warm day for a while.
According to the National Weather Service, highs in Salt Lake and Utah counties should peak at near 90 degrees Tuesday, with slightly cooler temperatures along the northern Wasatch Front. Forecasters also expect windy conditions and isolated thunderstorms.
But by Wednesday temperatures will drop by as much as 20 degrees, producing highs in the 70s along the Wasatch Front. Highs will rise slightly later in the week, but in general the northern part of the state should see a cooling trend with temperatures feeling more and more like autumn and less like summer.
In southern Utah, highs should reach the upper 90s Tuesday, then fall to the lower 90s Wednesday. High temperatures should fluctuate for the rest of the week between the 80s and 90s.
The Utah Division of Air Quality predicted "green" conditions throughout the state Tuesday and Wednesday.
Salt Lake City's high temperature should reach 89 degrees Tuesday and 71 degrees Wednesday; Ogden looked for 86 and 69 degrees, respectively; Provo 89 and 74; Logan 84 and 68; Wendover 87 and 69; Duchesne 77 and 74; Cedar City 83 and 76; St. George 97 and 91; and Moab 86 and 89 degrees.
