Layton police said a 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of killing an 11-month-old girl.

Police said Aliyah Wild died Tuesday night at Primary Children's Medical Center after apparently suffering injuries consistent with "Shaken Baby Syndrome."

Police arrested Tyler Ryan Geary, 25, who is the boyfriend of Aliyah's mother, on Sept. 10 on suspicion of felony child abuse, but police said Wednesday they are amending the case to a child-abuse homicide.

Police said Geary is not related to Aliyah.

An autopsy was scheduled Wednesday.
