It appears the Utah Underwear Run is a go for Oct. 6, but will get started later in the day after the LDS General Conference.
Salt Lake City denied the race organizers' first request to start the near-naked runners on their way at 4 p.m. along a route that goes past Temple Square. Police would have had to shepherd thousands along State Street during one of the most heavily trafficked Sundays of the year.
The city counter-proposed to move the event to another day or later the same day 5 p.m., said city spokesman Art Raymond. It would appear from an update on the race's Facebook page, made about 7:20 p.m. Thursday, that the organizers have accepted the later time.
