EPA created under GOP president

There are more holes in Mr. Molen's letter ("SL Valley too fragile for GOP machine," Forum, Sept. 24) than in an old sock, but I would like to address just one.

The Republican nightmare that includes fossil fuels and attacks on the environment? Really sir!

If you will do a little research you will find that the EPA was signed into law in 1970 by that great Democrat president, Richard M. Nixon.

Oh wait! He was a Republican, wasn't he! It was a bipartisan effort, no doubt. But so are most of the issues you blame on those "evil Republicans"
