I read daily about the extreme measures taken by Sen. Mike Lee regarding his views of the Affordable Care Act. If he can't defund the entire program, he will work to shut down the U.S. government until he does, even though he represents a very small minority and is at odds even within his own party.

Americans are tired of this childish behavior, which is akin to throwing oneself on the floor in the aisle at the grocery store when mom says no.

This is not the conduct of a great nation or its leaders. Real leaders show maturity and work to find solutions to help the country move forward and be its best. Americans need jobs and health care, and an opportunity to believe in our country again.

Our reputation, as well as our financial standing in the world, should not have to bear the burden of this extreme behavior by a few.

The Affordable Care Act is law, and our elected leaders should be working to find successful solutions to make it work. Mike Lee needs to be taken out of the store until he can behave like an adult. As a lifelong Utahn, I am embarrassed by this man.
