Northern Utah was to get a break from wet weather Saturday, but valley rain and mountain snow were to make a return by Sunday.

Northeastern Utah's Uinta Mountains near Vernal began Friday under a Winter Weather Advisory, but that was to expire at 9 p.m. Friday after bringing up to 8 inches of new snow to elevations 8,000 feet and higher.

The Wasatch Front looked for highs in the low-60s Saturday, up about 5 degrees from Friday. As precipitation returns on Sunday, though, temperatures are expected to dip into the mid-50s again.

Under mostly sunny skies, southern Utahns looked for highs in the 70s Saturday and Sunday, echoing Friday's forecast.

The Utah Division of Air Quality said the breathing should be clean and easy through the weekend with "Green," or healthy air quality grades, but the Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website's pollen index listed sagebrush at "very high" and ragweed and mold at "moderate."

Salt Lake City was to reach 63 degrees on Saturday, up from Friday's forecast for 56; Ogden looked for 61 and 54 degrees, respectively; Provo 63 and 55; Logan 61 and 55; Wendover 61 and 57; Duchesne 58 and 54; Cedar City 63 and 59; St. George 74 and 71; and Moab 67 and 63 degrees.
