A young girl was rushed to the hospital late Friday morning after falling from a downtown Salt Lake City Motel 6 balcony.

Salt Lake City police Detective Veronica Montoya said the 2-year-old girl fell from a second-story room at 9:08 a.m. incident, at 1990 W. North Temple.

Just how the child came to fall remained under investigation.

Montoya said the child was conscious when paramedics arrived, but her condition was not immediately known beyond that.
