Utah folk singer-songwriter Jay William Henderson has been to Nashville and back and his latest album, "Hyms to My Amnesia," is inspired by what he calls "Utah's hauntingly beautiful landscape."
That album is this week's Utah Crowd-Funding project.
Henderson produced his last solo album, "The Sun Will Burn Our Eyes," but this time he wants to focus on the music and have producer Scott Wiley handle the stuff on the other side of the studio glass. Wiley's track record includes "Let Me Live," the album Henderson's band, Band of Annuals," recorded.
"The plan for this album is to record everything live off the floor," Henderson writes on his Kickstarter page. "The energy and honesty of music in my opinion is captured best with this approach. It really seems to make the whole record making experience and listening experience more organic."
Henderson's Kickstarter campaign is seeking to raise $6,500 to record, master and duplicate the new CD.
The campaign so far has raised $3,866, with a Nov. 1 deadline looming.
Benefits range from a digital download of the CD (for a $10 pledge) to a private home concert (for a $1,500 pledge).
