Sandy police captured a Peeping Tom earlier this week in part because they tracked him down on Facebook.

According to court documents, the 25-year-old man was spying on a 13-year-old girl in a Forever 21 dressing room. At some point, the documents state, the girl's mom noticed someone holding a black iPhone under the divider between an adjacent stall. The mom told a store employee, who opened the adjacent stall and discovered the man.

The documents state the man pushed his way out of the store. The mom followed, but lost sight of him in a parking lot.

Police later showed the mom a photo lineup and she managed to identify the man, the documents explain. They also state that detectives searched Facebook and found the man's profile, where he was holding a phone like the one used to spy on the girl.

Prosecutors have charged the man with one count of attempted voyeurism involving a minor, a class A misdemeanor. Court documents show the man was booked into jail Wednesday. He bailed out the same day. A search of courts records did not reveal any past criminal offenses.
