As of 2011, Utah had 153,901 military veterans, according to data from Veterans Affairs.

That ranked Utah No. 37 among the states for sheer number. California had the most veterans while Vermont had the least.

The plurality of Utah veterans served in the Vietnam War, and Korean veterans now outnumber those who served in World War II, Veterans Affairs says.

Meanwhile, Veterans Affairs estimates the largest number of former service personnel live in Wasatch Front counties.
