Jennifer Schlott tallied 24 points and six rebounds for Utah State (1-0), which shot 50 percent and held the Yellow Jackets to 25 percent from the field an 0-for-15 from 3-point range.
Utah Valley 114, Walla Walla 27 • In Orem, Katie Kuklok scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Wolverines over the small NAIA school from Washington state.
Georgia Agnew had 13, eight assists and two steals for Utah Valley (1-1), which shot 67 percent from the field and 80 percent from 3-point range.
Walla Walla also lost 107-25 on Friday to Weber State, which snapped a 48-game losing streak and set a school record for the largest margin of victory in a game.
Azusa (Calif) Pacific 23, Dixie State 20 • The Red Storm (4-6, 4-5 Pac West) tied the game with less than two minutes remaining, but the Cougars drove 52 yards and kicked a field goal with three seconds remaining to win at home.
Santa Clara 3, BYU 1 • The No. 21 Cougars lost in California 27-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-23 to fall into a first-place tie with San Diego in the West Coast Conference.
Alexa Gray hit .319 for a team-high 17 kills for the Cougars (20-5, 13-2), which has three conference games remaining in the season.
New Mexico 3, Utah State 0 • Elle Brainard and Rachel Orr each had 10 kills for the Aggies (16-9, 9-5 Mountain West), who lost 27-25, 25-18, 25-22 to remain winless against the Lobos this season.
