Longwood 59, Utah Valley 57 • After leading by double digits in the first half, the Wolverines let the game slip away in the second half in Farmville, Va.
Utah Valley made all 14 free throws and outrebounded the Lancers 45-26, but shot just 32 percent from the field and didn't get a single point from its bench.
Katie Kuklok had a game-high 28 points for the Wolverines to go with 11 rebounds. Karlee Kartchner also had a double-double, with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Houston Baptist 88, Southern Utah 77 • In Houston, the Huskies ran away from Southern Utah in the second half in a game that was tied at 41 at halftime.
Lori Parkinson led the Thunderbirds with 16 points and seven rebounds, and Andrea Jones added 13 points and nine assists.
BYU 3, Portland 0 • On Senior Day in Provo, the No. 24 Cougars swept the Pilots in their final conference home game, 25-17, 25-16, 25-13.
The Cougars (22-5, 15-3 West Coast) were led by outside hitter Alexa Gray's 15 kills and seven digs. Tambre Haddock added 10 kills and four blocks.
Utah State 3, Fresno State 0 • The Aggies (18-9, 11-5 Mountain West) jumped into a second-place tie for the league lead with the Bulldogs with the sweep (25-15, 25-18, 25-17) in Logan.
USU junior middle blocker Kaitlyn VanHoff set a school record for hitting percentage (.818) in a three-set match, finishing with nine kills on 11 attacks and no errors. Junior outside hitter Rachel Orr led the Aggies with 15 kills.
Montana 3, Southern Utah 0 • In Cedar City, the Thunderbirds (4-25) were swept 25-15, 25-19, 25-21 in their last home game of the season. Kylie Schofield led SUU with nine kills; Lusia Angilau added eight.
Cal State Bakersfield 3, Utah Valley 2 • The Wolverines (18-13, 11-4 WAC) lost a five-set nail-biter at home against the evenly matched Western Athletic Conference rival Roadrunners (18-11, 10-4 WAC) on Saturday night in Orem 9-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-20, 16-14.
Cassie Wahlin led Utah Valley with 15 kills; two other Wolverines hit double digits in kills: Lauren Stringham (11) and Kalani Norris (10). Brookelynn Hall had 44 assists for the Wolverines.
Central Washington 44, Dixie State 0 • The Red Storm wrapped up a 4-7 season with an ugly home loss Saturday in St. George. Dixie State managed just 139 total yards to Central Washington's 451. Red Storm quarterbacks were sacked seven times and the team turned the ball over four times. Wildcats running back Jordan Todd rushed for 238 yards and a touchdown.
The Utah Valley University wrestling team went 1-2 Saturday at the Eastern Michigan Duals in Ypsilanti, Mich. UVU beat Gardner-Webb 29-12 but lost to Michigan State (21-18) and Ohio (26-13). Wolverine sophomore Jade Rauser, ranked 12th at 125 pounds, and senior Avery Garner (141 pounds) both went a perfect 3-0 Saturday for UVU (1-3).
SLCC 91, Western Nebraska 72 • The Bruins led from start to finish and outrebounded the Cougars 50-36 on Saturday at the Wright Shootout in Twin Falls, Idaho. Jaden Jackson and Collin Woods each had 17 points for Salt Lake; Gary Payton II added 12 as the Bruins moved to 6-1.
