Police throughout Utah were on the lookout for a California man and a male companion in connection with a high-speed chase that ended in a crash near Salt Lake City International Airport.
Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Dougherty said Monday that the driver of the crashed pickup truck, 26-year-old Geoffrey William Guess, and an unknown male passenger got away after their silver Toyota Tacoma, bearing California plates, crashed through a fence and into a dry canal bed on airport property about 11 a.m. Sunday.
Troopers believe the two may have been picked up by a Honda Accord traveling behind the pickup. UHP released a Fresno County (Calif.) mugshot of Guess. His record there includes charges such as possession of controlled substances, auto theft, evading police, burglary and making threats of bodily harm.
