Preliminary indications are that an icy section of roadway contributed to a crash that killed a 90-year-old Tremonton man.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said Wednesday that troopers continued to investigate the Tuesday afternoon accident in Logan Canyon. However, motorists told UHP that the area of the Logan Canyon road where Gordon Larson's Buick LeSabre went out of control, near Temple Fork Road, was slippery at the time of the 4:20 p.m. crash.
"That's what we're going on right now, but we have no witnesses to the actual crash and so [have] no idea what happened prior to him going into the [Logan] River," Royce said.
