An autopsy has confirmed that a man found dead in Salt Lake City's Memory Grove had succumbed to hypothermia.

SLCPD Detective Veronica Montoya on Wednesday identified the deceased as Reed Karren, 39.

A passerby walking his dog late Monday afternoon reported finding the body near 500 North and Canyon Road.

No obvious signs of trauma or foul play were found on his remains.

Memory Grove has been a favorite camping locale for transients, and abnormally cold overnight and daytime temperatures over the past week pose a deadly danger for those exposed to the elements.
