Letter: Allow for diverse thought

In regards to Tim Roberts' letter ("F-35 Sounds Like Freedom" Dec. 11), it appears that Mr. Roberts has a very narrow view of the human race and categorizes us as either liberal or conservative with no room for diverse thinking.

To say that all liberals are against a good military is as stupid as saying all conservatives are against helping their fellow man. An intelligent and broad minded human will look at an idea whether liberal or conservative and judge it on it's merit rather than which side of the political spectrum it is on. Believe it or not both the left and right have good and bad ideas. Mr. Roberts' opinion puts into perspective what is wrong with our country today, a lack of an open mind and the diversity to see an opinion other than our own as possibly having some merit.
