Utahns' Christmas photos are pretty much the best thing ever

With Christmas just a week away, much of Utah is glittering and glimmer with lights — and thankfully social media exists to document it all. The pictures in the gallery above were posted to Instagram and Twitter over the last few days and show various places around the state decked out for the holidays. The gallery includes the places you might expect — Temple Square, City Creek, etc. — but also a few Christmas trees, a snowman and even a place called "Christmas street."

The gallery on the left also includes a series of photos from the Tribune archives, most of them shot by staff photographers. So sit back, enjoy and let the holiday spirit help you forget that it's not quite the weekend (or the holiday) yet.

And if you're curious where to see the best lights in real life, check out this story and map from Tribune reporter Jennifer Napier-Pearce.
