A Morgan County Sheriff's deputy ran through an intersection Monday, causing an accident with another car.

The deputy drove his truck through the intersection of 100 South and State Street in Morgan about 8:16 p.m., according to Utah Highway Patrol trooper Todd Royce. The deputy failed to yield and as the truck passed through the intersection a passenger car T-boned it.

Royce said a juvenile girl in the car suffered minor injuries, as did the deputy. The juvenile driver of the car was not injured.

Authorities did not immediately know why the deputy drove through the intersection. Royce said investigators did not indicate that the deputy had activated his lights and sirens.
