A motorist died Sunday in American Fork when his car drifted into oncoming traffic.

Police did not disclose the name of the 33-year-old man on Sunday. About 5:14 p.m., he was driving a car east on Pioneer Crossing near Main Street. The car drifted right and drove over a raised median covered with shrubs, said American Fork police Lt. Sam Liddiard.

A pickup truck traveling west struck the car broadside, killing the driver. The pickup truck's driver suffered minor injuries, Liddiard said.

Liddiard said police are investigating whether the 33-year-old man was distracted.
