San Diego • They came into the media room reserved, but it was hard to hide the happiness.

As Joey DeMartino talked about winning his final college game in his hometown, Matt Wells let the facade crack. He and his Aggies had accomplished something that will be remembered for a long time in Logan.

After Utah State topped Northern Illinois, 21-14, in the Poinsettia Bowl on Thursday night, a cadre of Aggies including Jake Doughty, DeMartino, Darell Garretson and Ronald Butler came out to address the media. The defense was dominant, and the offense made a final push to get over the hump.

It was the first time the program has won back-to-back bowl games, and to do it against a ranked one-loss team made it sweeter.

Check out this video of Utah State talking about the win and what it meant to the team.
