A state parole and probation officer is accused of having sex with an old friend who left California while on parole there and was in Utah as a fugitive.

The California man said he and Utah Corrections Officer Cori Price had known each other for 20 years and recently "rekindled their friendship," investigators wrote in charges filed Monday. The man traveled to Utah to visit Price and moved in with her in June 2013, even though he was on parole supervision until Aug. 5, 2013.

But the man was arrested as a fugitive July 8, investigators wrote. While he was in jail, he and Price spoke on the phone several times; during those calls, Price indicated she knew her boyfriend was supposed to be under parole supervision in California, investigators wrote.

Price, 42, was working as an Adult Probation and Parole supervisor through September. She was charged with third-degree felony custodial sexual relations.
