My kids are snowboarders. Some of my best friends are snowboarders. I love snowboarders!
There are times, however, when I want a place to just ski and not have to deal with a boarder cutting me off and yelling "sorry dude" as I put myself back together after a wipe-out ("Suit claims Alta's ban on snowboards violates rights," Tribune, Jan. 15).
Alta provides the incredible combination of great terrain, reasonable lift prices, and a great powder snow-skiing tradition pioneered by Alf Engen. Snowbird offers comparable skiing and snowboarding conditions just down the hill from Alta and it welcomes snowboarders.
I vote to preserve Alta as a haven for skiers!
