$2M gift from Vivint creates new sales program at Utah Valley University

Utah Valley University will create a professional sales program thanks to a $2 million gift from Vivint and its CEO Todd Pedersen.

The Todd Pedersen Professional Sales Program will be housed within the Woodbury School of Business' Marketing department and will operate, in part, out of UVU's Business Resource Center, which will now bear the Vivint name.

The gift will allow for the creation of a sales and marketing research center and laboratory, which will incorporate the region's only eye-tracking equipment and facial-coding technology.



The money also will be used to fund a research director position, establish a scholarship program and help hire one more faculty member. It will also help students participate in the National Collegiate Sales Competition, the Western States Collegiate Sales Competition, and similar competitions. The program will train about 200 students, help support 50-plus internship experiences and provide more than 50 merit and need-based scholarships over the course of the next half-decade.
