A seminar focusing on the protocol skills business people should know when they court international trade will be held Feb. 19 at Priority Dispatch Corp., 110 South Regent Street, Suite 500.
An organization known as Protocol and Diplomacy International Protocol Officers Association will present the workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on behalf of the International Trade and Diplomacy Office of the Governor's Office of Economic Development.
Presentations will teach protocol skills that can help people avoid making cultural mistakes detrimental to business relations. "The seminar [will help] build a strong foundation in communication, understanding, and cooperation between individuals, businesses, governments and cultures," said Franz Kolb of the International Trade and Diplomacy Office.
Founded in 2002 at the first international protocol meeting at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., the association provides training and advice on internationally and nationally accepted rules of protocol.
The $30 registration fee includes lunch. To register, go to http://business.utah.gov/international.
