Letter: Where are female athletes, Tribune?

As I looked at today's (Feb. 6) paper, I saw the sports pages full of information about yesterday's signing day.

As I looked further I noticed something was missing.

Where was the information about all the wonderful female student athletes who were signing? Nothing.

I could even see in the sports front page photo a student I know was almost in the picture as she signed her letter of intent to attend the University of Utah. She will be playing soccer on a scholarship.

Not even in the picture, but at the same table was another outstanding female student athlete signing her letter to attend Westminster College.

Unfortunately, as we seem to move forward we remain locked in a sexist past.

Too bad, Tribune.
