Letter: Putin, Herbert using same anti-gay argument

In an NPR news report broadcast Feb 8, Russian leader Vladamir Putin dismissed concerns about increased gay bashing occasioned by the Sochi Olympics by stating that "we're just protecting the children."

Curiously this is exactly the same argument presented on behalf of Gov. Gary Herbert in briefs submitted this week to the federal courts supporting Utah's move to re-outlaw gay marriage. Did Vlad learn from Gary or is Gary cribbing from Vlad?
