The suspects remained at large but were still believed to be in the area.
Ryan said the pair broke out the front window of the store and also smashed two of the display cases, taking jewelry from them.
Detectives were working with business owners to determine exactly what and how much had been taken, Ryan said.
Descriptions of the pair were hard to come by. While they were captured on video security cameras, both were wearing black hooded sweatswhirts with the hoods pulled up, as well as makes and dark gloves.
However, Ryan said investigators may have caught a break, nonetheless: a wallet, with I.D., was found inside the abandoned car and the person pictured is not the registered owner of the vehicle.
Ryan said the car may have been stolen, but that had not yet been confirmed as of Tuesday afternoon.
Citing the ongoing nature of the case, police would not release further details.
