More than 150 sheep died when the truck that was carrying them crashed early Friday in Provo Canyon.

The semitrailer truck was carrying about 340 sheep on State Road 189 just before 3 a.m. when the truck overturned in the shoulder, said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Evan Kirby. About half the sheep died, Kirby said.

The driver was believed to have suffered no serious injuries, Kirby said.

The Tribune will report further details as they become available.
