A Weber County woman accused of forcing her disabled daughter to ingest alcohol until she passed out was ordered to stand trial Tuesday.
Raquel Borce, 31, is charged in 2nd District Court with second-degree felony child abuse.
On Tuesday, 2nd District Court Brent West heard testimony from several witnesses before ruling that there was probable cause that the woman committed the crime.
Borce pleaded not guilty to the charge on Tuesday. A pretrial conference was set for March 26.
The Weber County Sheriff's Office arrested Borce in June, a month after she called 911 from her Marriott-Slaterville apartment to report that her daughter, who has cerebral palsy, was unresponsive.
When the girl, then 3 years old, was taken to the hospital, doctors found a large amount of alcohol in her system, according to police.
The girl is not able to walk or talk and requires a feeding tube. Weber County sheriff's authorities said they don't believe there was a way for the girl to have inadvertently consumed alcohol.
The child recovered and is now with her biological father, according to authorities.
