• Instrumental progressive-metal band Animals as Leaders performs at In the Venue, 219 S. 600 West, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: After The Burial, Navene-K, Chon, Dethrone The Sovereign. Show starts at 6. Tickets are $20, at Smith's Tix.

• Post-hardcore band Creative Adult performs at The Shred Shed, 60 E. Exchange Place (360 South), Salt Lake City. Opening acts: No Sun, Red Bennies. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $12, available at 24Tix.

• Folk-punk band Saintseneca performs at Kilby Court, 741 S. Kilby Court (330 West), Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Vikesh Kapoor, Bat Manors. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $10, at 24Tix.

• Austin songstress and multi-instrumentalist Carrie Rodriguez and musical partner Luke Jacobs will perform at The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Opening act: Ben Taylor. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $12, at the venue's website.
