West Valley City police arrested a man accused in a knife-attack that left his roommate in critical condition Wednesday.

WVCPD Sgt. Blair Barfuss said officers responding to a 911 call about 4:45 a.m. Wednesday found an adult male with multiple stab wounds outside an apartment complex at 4000 S. Redwood Road.

Officers quickly located the man's apartment and arrested the 27-year-old suspect. He was booked intothe Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of domestic violence, attempted murder and obstruction of justice.

The victim was taken to the hospital and was in surgery late Wednesday morning. Barfuss said the victim was expected to recover.

"Detectives learned an argument began when [the suspect] was trying to evict his roommate. The argument escalated and [the suspect] stabbed the victim before pushing him outside the apartment where he was found by officers," Barfuss said.
