Michigan to host Penn State at night
college football • Michigan will host a Big Ten football game under the lights for the first time. The Wolverines and Penn State announced Monday that the two teams will play at night on Oct. 11 in Ann Arbor.
Michigan has played two night football games at the Big House, in 2011 and last season both against Notre Dame.
• Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham has been suspended indefinitely for an unspecified violation of team rules. Coach Gary Pinkel announced the suspension Monday, roughly three months after the standout receiver was arrested along with two men after police in his hometown of Springfield found a pound of marijuana in their car. No criminal charges have been filed in that case.
Buccaneers sign receiver, safety
NFL • The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed free-agent safety Major Wright and wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins. Wright spent the first four seasons of his career with Chicago. Hawkins played for San Diego last season, after five years with Tennessee.
