I doubt that our governor watched "60 Minutes" April 6. Generally, intelligent people watch "60 Minutes." So he probably missed the story about the 5 million people in this country who are without health insurance because they live in states, like Utah, that have refused to accept the Medicaid portion of Affordable Health Care.
What is wrong with our governor? He is spending tax dollars to go to Washington with a ridiculous counter-proposal that would take some of the Medicaid money and then require the uninsured to pay premiums and show that they have a job or are seeking one ("Herbert: Feds seem softer on Medicaid," Tribune, March 27).
Where would these people get the money to pay a premium and, if they have been trying without success to get a job or if they are sick, how do they show proof of a job?
