A wanted and armed man holed up in a Ogden home for several hours Thursday evening before surrendering to SWAT officers.
The standoff with the man lasted from about 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and began when he entered a home of "an associate" at a house on the 2800 block of Grant Avenue who didn't want him there, according to Ogden Lt. Tim Scott. The associate eventually called police and asked them to remove the man.
Scott said police soon arrived and discovered the man had a handgun. He also was wanted on several warrants and for questioning in a identity theft case. After assessing the situation, police called SWAT officers, who eventually coaxed the man out after about three and a half hours.
